A Saturday Kind of Funk

Cookin’ -- Beatfanatic
Afterburner – Tuatara
Saravah Soul -- Supergossego
Morphine – French Fries with Pepper
TM Juke and the Jack Baker Trio -- Fortune Favours the Bold
Speakers Built In – Charlie Hunter Trio
Raw Ingredients -- The Quantic Soul Orchestra
Fried Okra – Charles Wright and the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band
Right On – Boogaloo Joe Jones
Green Onions -- Booker T. and the MGs
Emulsified -- Rex Garvin and the Mighty Cravers
Rock with the Hot 8 – Hot 8 Brass Band
Love Rollercoaster – The Ohio Players
The Basic – Milk
Rebirth of Slick – Digable Planets

A little something whipped up after a craptastic Saturday morning. The fried eggs for for a late breakfast sandwich didn’t fry up right. There was some something I was allergic to in the house that I couldn’t locate and terminate, so I spent most of the day just trying to breathe. Yeah, I was feelin’ funky. This is A Saturday Kind of Funk. Starts out with sounds you might hear on a spring Morningside Heights-Spanish Harlem early Saturday night, then gets good and greasy with lots of bass and horns and a stop down south with a sparkling pit stop in Ohio before heading back up Broadway and taking a right at 125th.

An oldie, but goodie posted for those who may have missed it elsewhere.

Getting a little hungry just looking at your mix. I'm with hemizen on Booker T and the MGs.
