Well hello there, mixologists!
I'm ldp. I play with words and I play music. I've been known to combine the two. Sometimes I even make mixes, although I still miss the ease that comes with having access to two turntables, a deck, and tons of eclectic music plus copious time to perfect mixes. Still have the tons of eclectic music. Trying to embrace technology, but have nowhere near the time to master it all. Regardless, I do a mix in WinAmp every now and again.
What else? Lover of good music. Genre deaf. Smidge of indie cred. Easily distracted by new sounds. When you see me mention "radio friendly" it is not a good thing. Obscure is. In heavy frequent rotation ... anything Americana, global roots music, and "after dark" music -- guess that's downtempo-loungy. If it has mandolin-family instruments, oud, funky organs, or something squeezy making music in it -- accordion, bandoneon, concertina --, it's a good bet I'd like it.
Introduce me to new sounds and I promise to try to do the same for you. Just be certain to let me know if and when a mix is NOT work safe. (Oh, the joy that comes with playing a mix at a reasonable volume only to have the lead singer screaming "F*&@!" at the top of her lungs. Yes. It has happened.) Lots of listening happens during those hours, not too much mixing.
Be well!
