This forum exists to promote and encourage the love of mixtapes.
Of course, any forum is only as good as its contributors... but a forum is also only as good as its content. And so to promote a healthy and hefty amount of discourse here, you may find it handy to bear the following rules in mind when contributing.
Rule One: Don't Be An Ass - This is the simplest rule of all. If you can remember to Not Be An Ass, chances are good that you'll be well on your way to being a star contributor to Making Mixtapes!
Rule Two: Be Respectful - The fastest way to get yourself banned from this forum is to be disrespectful of the other posters here. Making Mixtapes is a place for any music lover. There will be absolutely no mercy shown to any poster who insists on posting anything that is offensive, hateful, sexist, racist, abusive, or discriminatory in any way, shape or form. See Rule One above for guidance.
Rule Three: Don't Spam - This is a touchy rule, and its limits and enforcement will be determined by the moderators. Please limit mix postings to reasonable numbers each day. As the forum grows, this rule may be subject to change. However, I guarantee that anyone engaging in regular old spamming will be summarily banned from posting, and will subsequently find their own inbox flooded with as much animal-based pornography as I can find. I don't like spam, and I'm intimately familiar with it... SO DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
Rule Four: Contribute! - OK, so this isn't really a rule. However, lurkers are really, really BORING, so please don't be afraid to post. If you're shy... just try posting once in a while. If you're worried someone is going to troll you... well, see Rule Two above.
Rule Five: Don't Upload Content - The reality is, this is a mixtape community, so in the eyes of those record exec folks, we're the Bad Guys. Of course, your views on the matter may differ. However, to protect the forum, please do not upload any content not belonging to you on the forum's server. Please use only off-site storage for any files.
These rules may be expanded over time. However, I think following these five easy rules will help keep this community vibrant, exciting and worth visiting.
